CIMZIA provided sustained inhibition of structural joint damage.1

RAPID 1: Inhibition of the progression of structural joint damage

In RAPID 1, CIMZIA plus methotrexate (MTX) significantly inhibited progression of structural joint damage (expressed as the mean change in modified total Sharp score [mTSS]) compared with placebo plus MTX.1

  • Mean change in mTSS score at 52 weeks was 0.4 in the CIMZIA 200 mg every 2 week group, compared with 2.8 for placebo (P<.001 by rank analysis)1
  • CIMZIA produced significantly greater inhibition of the progression of both erosion and joint space narrowing, which was observed at both 24 and 52 weeks1
  • Similar results were seen in RAPID 22

Cases of lymphoma and other malignancies have been observed among patients receiving TNF blockers, including children, adolescents, and young adults. Acute and chronic cases of leukemia have also been reported.
