The induction phase of CIMZIA treatment for moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) consists of the first 3 doses. During the induction phase, the recommended dose of CIMZIA for adults with RA is 400 mg initially followed by 400 mg again at week 2 and week 4.1 A 400-mg dose requires administration of 2 subcutaneous injections of 200 mg; the injections should occur at separate sites in the thigh or abdomen.1
The recommended dose of CIMZIA for adult patients with rheumatoid arthritis is 400 mg (given as two subcutaneous injections of 200 mg) initially and at weeks 2 and 4, followed by a 200-mg dose every other week. For maintenance dosing, CIMZIA 400 mg every 4 weeks can be considered.1 A 400-mg dose requires administration of 2 subcutaneous injections of 200 mg each; the injections should occur at separate sites in the thigh or abdomen.1
Important Safety Information Concurrent administration of CIMZIA with certain biological DMARDs, including anakinra, abatacept, and rituximab, is not recommended due to an increased risk of serious infections. Anaphylaxis or serious allergic reactions may occur. Hypersensitivity reactions have been reported rarely following CIMZIA administration.
